About Adulis News

Adulis News publishes reporting, analysis, features and interviews about Eritrea and the Horn of Africa.

We name and link our sources wherever we can, and we date every story and every substantive update to it.

Our sister site, Adulis Review, checks claims that international media make about the region against primary documents and on-the-record statements.

Why “Adulis”

Adulis was the ancient Red Sea port on the Eritrean coast. For centuries it was the gateway between Africa, Arabia and the Mediterranean, and the place where news from all three came ashore.
